Magnitude 6.9 earthquake strikes in southern peru

A 7.2 extent quake has shaken southern Peru, as indicated by the US Geological Survey.

There were no prompt reports of harm or injury.

The shake struck at around 7.02am nearby time in the Tirapata district and was focused 8.1 miles (13km) east-southeast of Azangaro.

It was genuinely profound at around 135.3 miles (217.8km) underneath the surface.

The US Tsunami Warning System said no tidal wave cautioning had been given.

Prior, the European Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) assessed the shake at size 7.

The tremor shook a few structures in La Paz, the capital of adjoining Bolivia, as well as in Peruvian urban communities like Arequipa, Tacna and Cusco.
